Responsibilities

As a Staff Frontend Engineer at Slateo, your work will span across engineering, design collaboration, and mentorship. Responsibilities include:

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and reusable frontend components.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.

• Drive frontend best practices including performance optimization, code quality, and accessibility standards.

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, providing hands-on technical leadership and constructive feedback.

• Own the long-term technical strategy for frontend systems, including framework choices, component libraries, and design system evolution.

• Conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards, and foster a culture of high-quality development. Troubleshoot complex technical problems and find solutions that balance scalability, maintainability, and user experience.

• Advocate for user-centric design and push the boundaries of what our products can do.

Who we’re looking for

We need a candidate who is highly skilled, passionate, and proactive. Our ideal Staff Frontend Engineer possesses:

• Expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, and TypeScript.

• 6+ years of professional frontend development experience.

• Solid understanding of web standards, accessibility (WCAG), and performance best practices.

• Knowledge of frontend build pipelines, testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.), and CI/CD processes.

• Passion for staying up-to-date with new technologies and emerging trends in frontend development.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying challenges and solutions.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with micro frontends or large-scale frontend architectures.

• Familiarity with GraphQL, server-side rendering, or JAMstack architectures.

• Understanding of design systems and component libraries at scale.
